University.

Hm.
Sucked.

You know, I always thought the people who said "play to your strengths" were just a bunch of idiots. "Spread out!" I thought. "Learn something new!" I thought. In that spirit, I did some computer classes along side my commuication/film credits.

Never again. I hereby swear to always play to my strength and never, ever, try anything new again--I may not be able to design any video games or anything cool like that ever, but God help me if I ever have to try to figure out another Python formula I'm going to throw myself off a building.

OTHERWISE. University is a lot like highschool, seems to be a bunch of make-work that doesn't really, in the short run, carry over into your job or real life. The essays you write a pointless, as usual. Don't get me wrong. I still learned lots and I now know for certain that making films is what I want to do, but I'm going to hold off for a few years until I know I'm finacially and mentally ready to take it on. I want to feel like I'm taking on University to advance my career, not just as a shitty do-it-cause-your-parents-tell-you thing. In that spirit, I sent in my application to the Canadian Forces (Americans, try to contain your giggles, Canada does have an army). I'm hoping for infantry and I sure as hell have been working out for infantry. Five km runs every second morning, lots of weights and two-person sports, better diet, the works--nice thing is that my bro is setting out to get fit with me, which makes it a lot easier motivation-wise. If you're trying to buff up or drop pounds, get a damn buddy.
Haven't got a reply to my application yet but next round of Basic starts in October. I'm glad, I really didn't wanna miss Montreal ComiCon ;D

Considering all the good work you've submitted here, no one responded? I hope the military will play to your strengths, 'cause 3 things are certain: you're going to be sore/ tired a lot; you're going to do things u don wanna doo; and third, you'll probably be ordered to shoot invading Americans, after their economy/ political structure collapses.
Best of luck with your film career; you'll find it takes a real leader to get a flick done!
